Former Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel discusses football, his battle with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, and inner city ministry in this message from Perimeter Church in Atlanta. Wuerffel, who played football for the University of Florida, also enjoyed a pro football career before starting Desire Street Ministries.
Wuerffel’s outline is based on five “rites of passage” most cultures throughout history would make boys experience to facilitate a successful transition from boys to men:
1) Life is tough
2) It’s not about you
3) You’re not that important
4) You’re not in control
5) You will die one day
